Living life can be complex and it often takes courage to open up to others. Sometimes speaking to friends and family is a good place to begin... and sometimes more is needed. Working with the right counsellor - feeling a connection through being understood - is key.
About me and my practice
Take a step towards leading your best life... I am a BACP accredited counsellor with over 15 years' experience, bringing warmth and sensitivity to my work. I offer professional support around coming to terms with difficult feelings, thoughts and life events.
People who come for counselling are ordinary people who are experiencing life as being painful. This may be due to problems in a relationship, the loss of a loved one, work-related stress, anxiety or perhaps a general sense of unhappiness.
Talking to a trained counsellor is a way of understanding your life and, through this process, starting to think differently, feel differently and choose different behaviours and actions.
Experience
I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling (University of East London, 2005). This course was also accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Psychosynthesis is a humanistic and transpersonal approach, and I also integrate solution-focused practice into my work.
I have been a Registered BACP Accredited Counsellor (MBACP Accred) since 2009 and I adhere to the BACP's Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.
I have a Diploma in Individual and Group Supervision and a Diploma in Casework Supervision through Cascade Training Associates (2010).
I currently work as a Counsellor at the University of Wales Trinity St David (London campus), as Clinical Supervisor to the Counselling & Wellbeing Service at Kingston University London and as Clinical Supervisor to the Counselling Service at City Lit, London's largest adult education college.
